For the love of 3D Design
The 3d design process involved in creating objects for visualization is an incredible journey of fulfillment and frustration. This is especially true when one has to find ways to portray objects and situations that no-one has ever seen using 3D modelling software like Blender.
The Mishkan App is a prime example of this. The Mishkan Application Is a representation of the Tabernacle of Moses. No-one alive today has ever seen the Tabernacle and no matter what they tell you or how adamant they are that their “interpretation” of Scripture is accurate, no-one knows for certain. This is only our interpretation of what the Showbread table, as described in the Bible, would look like when created by a 3D Artist.
The process of coming to the result that we have come to for this specific scenario has taken more than 30 years. the late Dr. Gerrit Nel was the main contributor to bringing this vision to life. His study of the subject of the Tabernacle, especially the shadows and types of the Messiah, braught the necessary insights that has enabled us to portray a version of the Tabernacle that might be accurate according to the Bible.
3D Design software brings one only so far. To go all of the way one then needs the expertise and knowledge of one such as Dr. Nel. He spent half his life researching the subject of the Tabernacle. This subject, by the way, is the subject that is written about the most of all subjects in the Bible. It was my privilege to be able to draw on the expert work and passion of Dr. Nel to be able to create this 3D application fo this organisation, Hebrew People.
